Lies of P instaling12/28/2023 ![]() ![]() the healing system (fixed charges AND recharging the last one by attacking) Switching blades and hilts changes the scalings and movesets, along with "active skills" This is incredible, especially in the current game landscape (yeah, looking at you, steelrising and wo long) A perfect 60 fps without any stutter or lag (except for the dodge, again). ![]() Even better : the demo ran EXTREMELY WELL. ![]() i see no blur or pixellization even on 1080p. the graphics are beautiful, (not the art direction, though). Running/dodge attacks are completely unusable since they are terribly delayed. The very limited weapon movesets (god, the greatsword is the worst!). Exploration reduced to the bare minimum (so, no rewads for being curious) I won't test it myself, but that would be a hint. I want more gameplay choice! Someone said that reducing the fps to 30 helped a lot. this makes the whole game a parry system more than anything else. the dodge (basically useless, because of its lag). What is infuriating in this demo, for me, are : In 2023, i expect much more than that ! Nioh is basically the only souls-like that went far beyond the classic formula (we really should drop the term "soulslike", "stamina-action" is far better, Dark Souls didn't invent the stamina management after all). So, Lies of Pi is also heavily inspired by Sekiro, which would be a good thing since it is a great game, but Lies of P is extremely sluggish. The combat is solid yes, and it has a heavy emphasis on parry. While it has a warm place in my heart, Lies of P combat feels very clunky. Why is this important to me ? Because, the game feels like a copy paste from Dark Souls 2. This s certainly a dull souls-like, but the close "victorian" style doesn't make it a bloodborne like Let's stop comparing it to bloodborne, please, this is getting ridiculous. ![]()
